There’s no denying that Moto Guzzi makes a beautiful motorcycle, but in the custom world, everything can be improved upon. When it comes to building custom Moto Guzzi Cafe Racers it seems one German company has it down to a fine art. These are the works of Axel Budde and his Kaffee Maschine workshop.
Kaffee Maschine will take your classic V2 engined Moto Guzzi and convert it into a stunning street or track-ready Cafe Racer. Using one-off and custom made parts designed and handcrafted in their own workshop they have created a series of stunning Cafe Racers for their clients. Best of all this is all done under the guidance of the owners, matching their style and performance wishes while following their own basic Cafe Racer formula – optimise performance/optimise suspension/reduce technical aspects/create pure riding machines.
Here’s a selection of the Moto Guzzi Cafe Racers they have completed. Each bike features their custom rear brake set up, opened/cleaned/lightened framework, brake torque supports (+ floating discs on post ’84 models), gear linkages and rear set pedals, low profile machined engine protectors and a full engine “anti-ageing” overhaul and polish:
Machine 1: Based on a Moto Guzzi Le Mans 4, 1040ccm V2 engine, power upgraded to 90bhp, 102NM, dry weight of 191kg.
Machine 2: Based on a Moto Guzzi Le Mans 2 frame with Moto Guzzi Le Mans 4 engine and transmission, tuned by HTMoto, Engine 1040ccm V2, power 95bhp, dry weight 173kg
Machine 3: Based on a Moto Guzzi T3 California, Engine 850ccm, Power 76bhp, dry weight 181kg
Machine 4: Based on a Moto Guzi Le Mans 3, engine 950ccm, power 82bhp, dry weight of 180kg. Built for olympic cyclist Gustav Larsson from Sweden.
